Stick-ability
This past Sunday, July 17th, the title of the sermon was “To Tithe or Not To Tithe, That is The Question“. During that sermon, I broke down in the beginning of the sermon, the budget of CV as well as the percentage for the Pastor’s Salary of the budget and even compared that with the national average for churches. Why did I do this? I wanted our IN-HOUSE and LIVE FEED congregations to realize I am not the Pastor for any other reason that I truly love and care for our ENTIRE church family.
During our time as Pastor of Coosa Valley, we have poured into all who are connected with us in every way we have been able to. From praying with you when you were in the hospital, with the babies were born, and when loved ones have died. We have performed marriages, baby dedications, funerals, delivered groceries and medication, brought food for meals and so much more. Why am I taking the time to outline what my family and I have done for this church family during our time at Coosa Valley? I want each one to know we have a stick-ability about being at CV.
What does this mean for our church family? We are all in this together! We all need to have the mindset that we will work together to continue to make Coosa Valley a visitor friendly church. We want to be a place where people can come and seek God, to worship God, and a place where we see prayers answered. Regardless of how things are going in the world around us, we need Coosa Valley to be a place where people can come and feel safe, as well as a place we can get re-energized and strengthened before we face yet another day.
My prayer over the past few weeks has been that God continues to bring a desire and determination within our church family to get closer and closer to Him and to help those around us get up, dust off and move forward in our walk with God. My prayer has been and will continue to be that regardless of how things look, as long as it is God’s will for us to be at CV, then I will fight the spiritual fight and stand in the gap for our church family.
We realize that anxiety, depression and discouragement is on the rise and I will do all I can to be here for our church family. We all need to be praying for mental health for each other, as well as be mindful of how we handle situations, and of how others are handling the rise of anxiety, depression and discouragement. Again, we are all Christians, all on the same side and all should have the same desired outcome, which is growing the Kingdom of God.
Finally, just as a reminder, Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” We are not against each other, we are FOR EACH OTHER!!!
