PASSAGES: 1 Thessalonians 3:9; 2 Timothy 2:12; Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 4:4–5; Colossians 2:7; 1 Corinthians 3:6–8; John 15:12–15; Ephesians 3:15–21; John 10:28–29

1 Thessalonians 3:9 ~ “For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God,”

Words are inadequate to express our feelings of thanksgiving. So, like Paul, we say what thanks can we rend to God for you. I am thankful for:

MY FAITH IN THE LORD

2 Timothy 2:12 ~ “if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;”

  • I am thankful for my salvation.

Acts 4:12 ~ “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

  • I am thankful for the Holy Scriptures.
  • I am thankful for the Holy Spirit.

FINDING CHRISTIAN LIBERTY

I Timothy 4:4–5 ~ “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.”

  • Not bound by religious ceremonies or customs.
  • Not bound by rituals, rites, routines, ruts, rudiments.
  • Bought by the blood, born again by the Spirit.

FREEDOM’S ABOUNDING LIGHT

Colossians 2:7 ~ “rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

  • Light of the Gospel of Grace.
  • Love that is great beyond measure.
  • Life that is good and blessed.

FRIENDS THAT ARE TRUE AND LOYAL

John 15:12–15 ~ “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

  • In the time of sickness and disappointment.
  • In the time of sorrow and death.
  • In the times of sweet services with our Lord.

FAMILY YOU CAN HAVE AND LOVE

Ephesians 3:15–21 ~ “from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

  • Home of the entire family ties.
  • House that provides the comforts needed.
  • Happiness of sharing the joy with others.

FUTURE OF ETERNAL LIFE

John 10:28–29 ~ “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

  • Best is yet in the future for the saints.
  • Blessed is the man who’s God is the Lord.
