Who is God? (July 24, 2022)

• He is PATIENT 

He puts us where we need to be to receive but we are the ones who really fight against Him.

• He sets us up 
  • To be in the right place
  • To be around the right people (your circle)
  • To win
• We deserve death
  • “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans‬ 5:8‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ 6:23‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • My disobedience, my rebellion, me thinking I know more than God, my sin the wage is death.  But I don’t have to pay the price!

• He will never leave us

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy‬ 31:6‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

1. • Satan wants to cripple us into believing we are not good enough. That we messed up to many times and God is through with us. 
     • “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John‬ 10:10‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
     • Satan has us living in fear.

• • So remembering that God is patient and now that no matter what the enemy wants me to believe God will never leave me, because I can live abundantly in Him. 

• He is power‬‬

  “The Lord is slow to anger and great in power…” Nahum‬ 1:3‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

• How frustrated we get with…
  • Spouse
  • Toddlers
  • Teenagers
  • Co – worker
• God does not grow frustrated with us.
  • No matter what we do we can’t wear God out.
  • “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians‬ 12:9‬ ESV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

• Everything we need he is

There is nothing we will face that He has not equipped us to handle. He is our strength.
