New Year, Same God!

As we start this New Year, or HAVE started this New Year, we must remember that a New Year usually gives people a break or separation to try and do something different. This is why many will make New Year’s Resolutions. What are some of your New Year Resolutions for 2023? Some might say “Save Money”, some might say “Spend Less”, some might say “Loose Weight”, “Get into Shape”, “Go back to school”, and the list can go on and on.
I personally have never been a fan of resolutions, because typically we forget about them within a few weeks, but people really do want to make a change, they just don’t necessarily have the will power keep that change as a part of their life. All being said, there are some changes that I would like to make in my life and I would LOVE it if all our church family would read this list and I would urge you to look at making some of these changes in YOUR life as well. OH BUT BRO. ANDY … I don’t need these changes in my life, I am just fine with how I am. Then I am proud of you, but I would like for you to help me pray that God would make these changes in MY LIFE. Those changes are:
- I would like to have more time devoted to PRAYER
Colossians 4:2 ESV ~ Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
- I would like to have more time devoted to the STUDY of HIS WORD
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV ~ All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
- I would like the desire to be in service, every chance I can get; Sunday School, Morning Worship, Bible Study, Devotional Times, Prayer Meetings, and MORE
Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV ~ And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
- I want to test and see if God will be true to His Word; I want blessings beyond blessings poured into my life; I want to GIVE as commanded in His Word
Malachi 3:10 ESV ~ Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
- I want God to use me in the world we are living in today MORE than ever before
Isaiah 6:8 ESV ~ And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
There is so much more that God has in store for myself and for our church family. I am excited to see the growth and what God has in store in 2023!!! I hope that you join me on this journey!!!
