Church Christmas Letter 2023
Warm Christmas Greetings!
The greatest announcement the world has ever received is found in Luke 2:10-12 – But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. [11] Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. [12] This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Coosa Valley Church of God has special activities for all our church families to come together and celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
We are so excited to see everyone, so please make sure that you write these dates down or place them on the calendar in your phone with reminders so that you don’t miss them.
To show our love and Christmas Spirit to each other and to our Pastor, his wife and daughter, we are asking our CV family to please get a card or write a note letting Pastor Andy and his family know how much you love them. Please enclose a love offering as well. We will have a special gift bag for those who worship IN-HOUSE so that you may drop your card in on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
If you are going to be worshiping on LIVE FEED, please mail the card along with your Christmas love offering directly to Rev. and Mrs. Andy Lambert, 970 River Rd., Cropwell, Al. 35054. We hope you will be able to do this so they will receive your offering on or before, Sunday, December 17, 2023.
If you have any Christmas cards for our CV family, you are welcome to bring them to any service for you to hand them out. If you know that someone to whom you wish to send a Christmas card but does not worship IN-HOUSE, there will be a basket in the foyer to place them in and Pastor Andy will deliver them. We will have some mailing labels runoff and they will be placed on the information table in the lobby for anyone who wishes to use them. You can also access these on the mobile app: CV CONNECT.
Here are some of the events that will be taking place in person:
- Friday, December 1st, 2023 – Women’s Christmas party at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Please bring a dish of your choice for everyone to enjoy and also please bring a $10.00 wrapped Christmas ornament that can be swapped with someone else at the party.
- Saturday, December 9th, 2023 – Men’s Breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Pell City at 8:00 a.m.
- Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 5:00pm ~ Amanda Maddox’s Sunday School class Christmas party at her house.
- Sunday, December 10th, 2023 – Church Christmas Fellowship Lunch. The lunch will be after service and we will have a menu sign up sheet in the foyer.
- Sunday, December 17th, 2023 ~ the kids will be doing a skit and singing a song during our morning worship service.
- Wednesday, December 20, 2023 ~ Kids Class and the Teens and Young Adults Class will both be having their Christmas Party at the church at 6:30pm.
- Sunday, December 24th, 2023 – Will be having a Christmas Eve service and would love for everyone to be there if at all possible. This will be a great service that will include the teens will be performing a skit and last but certainly not least, the most important event on Christmas Eve is that we will be doing Christmas Communion. What an awesome way to honor and celebrate our Lord and Savior!
There is no denying this has been a difficult year for all of us. Yet, we’re so glad that you remain a steadfast member of our church family. Christmas is not about what you get, it’s what you give and we want to thank you all for being an amazing friend and example of charity and faith! Please pay close attention to your texts, emails, our church website and social media for any changes, additions, or other announcements.
