With all that is happening around our local church and the world we are living in, it is important to be reminded about WHO GOD IS for us in our lives. We need to be reminded about who we have put our FAITH in. We also need to remember that Faith is not about what you know, but WHO you know.
Faith is personal, not abstract. We cannot detach faith from our personal relationship with God.
Psalm 46:10 tells us “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Your understanding of God determines the strength and depth of your faith.
- We need to know Him as Elohim, God our creator
- We need to know Him as El Olam, the everlasting God (Psalm 90:2)
- We need to know Him as El Shaddai, the Almighty God, the Most High God
- We need to know Him as Adonai, the Master, Ruler, Sovereign Lord.
- We need to know Him as Yahweh, or Jehovah, which means the Eternal One, the Promise Keeper
- We need to know Him as Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider (Genesis 22:14)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord our Healer (Exodus 15:26)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord our Banner (Exodus 17:15)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord our Peace (Judges 6:24)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Rophi, the Lord our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6)
- We need to know Him as Jehovah-Shammah, the Lord is Present (Ezekiel 48:35)
