THE SUFFERING SERVANT
- Despised and Rejected (Isaiah 53:1-3)
- Wounded and Bruised (Isaiah 53:4-6)
- Oppressed and Silent (Isaiah 53:7-12; Acts 8:26-35)
Central Truth: Christ suffered to free us from the bondage of sin.
Focus: Examine one of Isaiah’s prophecies about Christ’s sufferings and praise God for His saving sacrifice.
Evangelism Emphasis: Christ suffered to free us from the bondage of sin.
Golden Text: “He [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5)
