MORE? What does that mean that “We Want MORE of God in 2024”?

 

If we want MORE of God, we have to give Him MORE of us.

 

Fasting, Prayer, Reading, Study … MORE

Giving – Time, Skill, Talent, Energy … MORE

 

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the same ole, same ole … I want MORE!

 

Tired of sickness – I want MORE healing! It starts with the one who is sick.

 

James 5:14 (ESV) ~ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

 

Tired of financial burden – I want MORE poured into my life! It starts with me.

 

Matthew 6:33 (ESV) ~ But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

 

Tired of not being as deep in God’s Word – I am hungry and thirsted for MORE of God! It starts with what am I hungry and thirsty for.

 

Matthew 5:6 (ESV) ~ “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

We at Coosa Valley Church of God want MORE, but we have to have less of ME and more of HIM to get MORE of HIM (God)!

 

John 3:30 (ESV) ~ He must increase, but I must decrease.

 

 

MORE!!!

 

We are looking for MORE of His Word – we are revamping our devotionals. 

  • We will have a devotional posted on our Website, a link to this will be posted on our Facebook page, and emailed every morning around 5:30am. This devotional will read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, give highlights and have prompts of what is happening in the Scriptures. This is to promote MORE study.
  • Want to just read the Bible? That is great as well. You can join our YouVersion Bible Reading program and read the Bible Chronologically, in order of events happening.
  • We also will have the Sunday School outlines posted on Mondays at 10:00am on the Website with the Devotional reading for the next week. These readings will get you ready for the next Sunday School Lesson. The link will be posted on our Facebook page as well.
  • We will also have short devotional videos posted to all our LIVE FEED avenues throughout the year. These 5 minute minis will prompt MORE study in His Word.
  • Finally we will have short devotionals in our YouVersion Bible App as well. Join us there!

 

We are looking for MORE ways to view services when not able to be IN-HOUSE.

 

We are looking for MORE times of Fellowship.

  • We added a few MORE fellowship times in 2023, because we need each other! We need to be around people of like faith during the good times, MORE and MORE!
  • We are looking for MORE opportunities for Fellowship in 2024. Watch for:
    • Men’s breakfasts
    • Young Adults bowling
    • Teens bonfires
    • Bible Study times
    • Fellowship with other churches – we are not enemies we need each other
    • We need MORE!

 

We need MORE Worship Times

  • We are looking to add Sunday Night Revivals in the mix this year. This will be a Sunday Night Service (here and there) where we come together and have Worship and a time in His Word.
  • We are looking to have a Sunday Hymn Sing, a time of just gathering together and singing Praises to His Name.

We need MORE Prayer Times

  • We already have a prayer wall
  • We already get a reminder on Thursday’s to pray for one another.
  • We want to have a Sunday Afternoon of just gathering to PRAY!
  • We want to have a Thursday evening prayer service, where people can join IN-HOUSE or on a video link and let’s pray together!

 

Why do we look for MORE? Because God is raising up a REMNANT of people that still seeks HIM!

 

Romans 11:5 (ESV) ~ So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.

 

When we get MORE of God in our lives, God will help us MORE!!!

 

Isaiah 41:13 (ESV) ~ For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

 

When we get MORE of God in our lives, we will do what God has called us to do – MORE!

 

Isaiah 6:8 (ESV) ~ And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

 

Matthew 28:19 (ESV) ~ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
