Set Free by His Blood
Passages: Colossians 1:14; 1 John 1:7; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:13; Hebrews 10:19; Revelation 12:11; Luke 22:20
The blood of Jesus is not just a symbol - it is the power that changes everything.
• It purchases our freedom - We were slaves to sin, but Christ paid the ransom to set us free.
Colossians 1:14 “in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
• It cleanses us from all sin - No stain of guilt is too deep for the cleansing power of Christ’s sacrifice.
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”
• It justifies us before God - Through His blood, the guilty are declared righteous.
Romans 5:9 “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.”
• It brings us near to God - Those who were far away are welcomed into God’s presence.
Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
• It gives us access to God - The veil has been opened and believers can come boldly before God.
Hebrews 10:19 “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,”
• It secures victory over satan - The enemy is defeated through the testimony of Christ’s finished work.
Revelation 12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
• It establishes a new covenant - Christ’s blood guarantees a new relationship with God based on grace.
Luke 22:20 “And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
