Blessed Benefits of a Christian Mother
Sermon Outline for Sunday, May 9, 2021
1 Samuel 1:15–18 ESV
But Hannah answered, “No, my lord, I am a woman troubled in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the Lord. Do not regard your servant as a worthless woman, for all along I have been speaking out of my great anxiety and vexation.” Then Eli answered, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him.” And she said, “Let your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
There is no way of knowing the eternal lasting good a godly mother contributes to her family and the world. One of our great needs today is godly, consecrated, praying, Bible reading, God-fearing Mothers.
• Her Own Personal Faith
Isaiah 1:26–28 ESV
And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and those in her who repent, by righteousness. But rebels and sinners shall be broken together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
• The justification by faith in the Savior
• The joy of her own Salvation
• The judicious dedication of her service
• The Persuasion of her Family

Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy was ministering to the Lord in the presence of Eli the priest.
• More apt to receive Christ
• More apt to respect the Church
• More apt to run with other Christians

Ephesians 6:1–3 ESV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
• To see the family saved
• To see friends you have helped
• To face the finish without regret

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him.
• Well done good and faithful servant
• Witness that will live on and on
